A letter to us at BioCompression

March 24, 2000 BioCompression Systems Dear Sir or Madam, I had surgery for breast cancer on March 11, 1985. Due to the removal of the lymph nodes in my right arm, I developed lymphedema. My arm was in such bad condition, I was put on a Jobst pump. It became very painful with a build up of excess fluid under my arm. My arm also became numb after a thirty minute treatment. We had to discontinue the use of this device. On June 11, 1997, my doctor put me on your Gradient Compression System. My arm became soft and the swelling went down. There was no longer a buildup of excess fluid under my arm and in the shoulder area. Because of the improvements your system has accomplished, I am now able to wear my normal clothes again. It is a miracle that after fifteen years I now have my arm under control. Your system is also easy to use. This is important since I will be taking this treatment for the rest of my life. The gradient compression system allows me to lead a normal life and is so much less costly than the manual treatment which must be administered by a therapist. The previous treatment consisted first of a massage, then a wrap with a special low stretch bandage with foam underneath. I also had to wear a compression sleeve night and day. It made my arm hurt so badly I could not sleep. My arm became so irritated, I had to be put on penicillin. The sleeve had to be discontinued. With all this behind me, I wanted to let you know how happy I am with your Gradient Compression System. Thank you very much! (name withheld on request) |
